Richie Burr, the owner of Specialty Automotive, is passionate about the automotive industry and strives to use his knowledge of working in the field to create the best vehicle repair shop Reno-Sparks has to offer. Richie has always had a desire to improve, evolve and grow. Working at a few shops in town throughout his career, everywhere had something he liked but lacked what the previous shop had. If he could just take all of what he thought was good about each shop and put it all together, he could create a smooth running and profitable auto shop void of common industry issues. MAKE AN APPOINTMENTI started wrenching at a very early age with a strong desire to operate something, anything, with an engine. There were opportunities all around with broken down motorcycles, ride-on lawn mowers and go-karts acquired from anyone that didn't want to put time into them and/or had given up on them. As I got older, my older sister started driving. She started to need help with her vehicle and so did my mom. Before I got my driver's license, I started working at a gas station with a garage attached, pumping gas and checking oil until eventually they began to let me do bigger repairs and learn from their senior master technician. I’ve been working on cars and trucks ever since.
Whether you need a routine maintenance or a custom car repair, I really love a challenge. If you bring me your worst electrical nightmare, I'll tame the beast and make it seem like nothing. Bring me a custom hot rod or 4x4 with all aftermarket or performance parts, with an engine out of something else, lowered or lifted suspension parts or any combination of parts, and if possible, I'll make everything work together seamlessly just as you dreamed in the beginning.
I attended Truckee Meadows Community College and am ASE Certified with over 20 years of experience working in the automotive field. I’m also a former Class 2G NV Emissions Inspector and repair technician.
